We Are – Outreach

Join us at Logan as we continue with our current series, We Are. This week Henry emphasises the importance of seeing ourselves as disciples of Jesus and living out Jesus’ purpose in our lives. While reaching out to others may come with its own set of challenges, it’s essential to remember that it’s not just a task for specific people, but something that every disciple of Jesus is called to do. Whether it’s fear or uncertainty holding us back, we must recognise that our purpose in reaching out goes beyond simply making friends or fitting in. Like Jesus, we should see those around us not just for who they appear to be, but for the potential they hold, the struggles they face, and the desire to belong and make a difference. With this perspective, we can step into our role as ambassadors of Christ, reaching out with love and compassion, just as Jesus did.

After this he went out and saw a tax collector named Levi, sitting at the tax booth. And he said to him, “Follow me.” And leaving everything, he rose and followed him. And Levi made him a great feast in his house, and there was a large company of tax collectors and others reclining at table with them. And the Pharisees and their scribes grumbled at his disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?” And Jesus answered them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.” – Luke 5:27-32 (ESV)
