Join us at Logan as we continue with our current series, NOW Gen. This week Pastor Henry takes inspiration from the story of King Josiah, who tore down the idols that distracted his people from God. Just as Josiah didn’t shy away from taking action, let’s examine our own lives for any modern-day idols—whether it’s the lure of social media, the pursuit of comfort that may be diverting our attention from what truly matters. Remember, God is calling you to be a resilient disciple, living with intentionality and purpose, and making a difference wherever He has placed you. Take heart, and let’s continue to shatter any barriers that hold us back from wholeheartedly following God.
Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists undertook to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “I adjure you by the Jesus whom Paul proclaims.” Seven sons of a Jewish high priest named Sceva were doing this. But the evil spirit answered them, “Jesus I know, and Paul I recognise, but who are you?” And the man in whom was the evil spirit leaped on them, mastered all of them and overpowered them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. – Acts 19:13-16 (ESV)
