Join us at Logan as we continue with our current series, Church in The Mess. This week Pastor Henry discusses how God’s methods defy human expectations. While worldly standards value wisdom, power, and noble birth, God chose the foolish and weak things of the world to shame the wise and strong. The message of the cross, which was seen as foolishness or a stumbling block to many, is revealed as the power and wisdom of God for those who are being saved. So trust in God’s ways, which are higher than our own, and find encouragement in the fact that God uses ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary things.
God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human being might boast in the presence of God. And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, so that, as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.” – 1 Corinthians 1:28-31 (ESV)
